The Message

It’s vital that we get the right information to the right audience. We must amplify our strong record and expose how Trump is taking away our freedoms and threatening the rule of law. 

Character matters. The American people deserve a president who sets out each day to fight for them, not an extremist preoccupied with revenge and retribution for himself. Joe Biden has spent his entire career working on behalf of the American people. He is the type of person who, after his wife and infant daughter died in a car accident, would commute back and forth from D.C. to Wilmington, Delaware, to tuck his two boys into bed at night.

On the other hand, we know Donald Trump wakes up each morning only concerned about himself. He paid no federal income tax for years, gave cushy White House jobs to family members, and refused to divest from his corporation, allowing him to reap profits off of the presidency. It’s corruption of the highest level. He tells grieving families to “get over” mass shootings, calls service members captured in war “suckers” and “losers,” and he scapegoats law-abiding immigrants for “poisoning the blood” of the country.

The distinction between service and selfishness is a throughline underlying how we talk about all of the dominant issues at hand. We’ll take democracy first, and then cover reproductive rights and the economy.

Democracy

Our system of government has lasted for 236 years. It took sacrifice, presidents committing to causes bigger than themselves. Trump is incapable of fulfilling that imperative. He is the only convicted felon representing a major political party ever to seek the presidency, and he’s willing to do anything for power. He is a deeply unstable man who warns of a “bloodbath” if he loses in November, who enables white nationalist and other hate groups, and who stokes division at every opportunity.

The former president represents an existential threat to democracy here in America.

We’re not merely reminding voters about how Trump abused the powers of the Oval Office in the past. We’re showing in real-time all the examples of how he’d upend our democracy in a second term. It’s hard to fathom, but the next four years of Trump at the helm poses an even greater threat to our democracy than the first.

Reproductive Rights

For nearly 50 years, women in America had the freedom to make their own health care decisions. But Trump ran for president in 2016 on a promise to overturn Roe v. Wade. He appointed three ultra-conservative justices who did just that. Trump continues to brag about being “proudly the person responsible” for ending constitutional protections for reproductive freedom. Because of Trump, 21 states and counting now have abortion bans — many with no exception for rape or incest – that are putting women’s lives at risk.

Trump says states enacting these draconian bans is “a beautiful thing to watch.” And he will ban abortion nationwide if reelected — with or without the help of Congress.

We’re spreading the word via print, mail, and digital channels that not only would Trump sign a ban making abortion illegal nationwide with no exceptions, his allies have plans to ban abortion in all 50 states through executive action, without the help of Congress. Even birth control and IVF are at risk. President Biden stands with the vast majority of Americans who support a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, and he is fighting to pass a law restoring the protections of Roe v. Wade. 

The Economy

Trump talks a big game, but he actually had the worst jobs record of any president since Herbert Hoover. The tax scam he signed into law padded the pockets of giant corporations who chose not to reward workers but to buy back shares.

By contrast, Joe and Kamala have initiated the most pro-worker set of economic policies in generations. They’ve built a flourishing labor market, with unemployment at or below 4% for the longest stretch since the 1960s. Over 15.6 million new jobs have been created and counting. They believe that prices are still too high for working families, which is why they’ve taken on the drug companies, oil companies, and banks responsible for jacking up prices and fees on consumers.

We inherited an economy on the brink of recession. Now, under Joe’s leadership, we’re witnessing the great American comeback.

Trump is already promising another massive giveaway to his billionaire buddies that would explode the national debt while raising costs on working families. He’s renewed his age-old plot to destroy the Affordable Care Act, which would eliminate health care for tens of millions, including those with pre-existing conditions. And he has promised to cut Social Security and Medicare, just like he tried to every year he was in office the first time.

We’re committed to making sure people know the truth about the Biden-Harris economy and exposing how Trump sold out middle class families in favor of corporate special interests.

The Future

The next four years will leave an indelible mark on American history. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have an ambitious second term agenda centered around building on the robust progress they’ve made since taking office. They’re intent on lowering expenses for families, restoring Roe v. Wade as the law of the land, and addressing longstanding challenges overlooked by previous administrations — from the cost of housing, prescription drugs, child care, and higher education, to the scourge of gun violence — by taking on big pharma, the NRA, and other systemic barriers. Another four years of a Biden-Harris administration would prioritize enacting comprehensive immigration reform, strengthening our democracy by rooting out dark money, partisan gerrymandering, and voter suppression, and bolstering the federal bench with a distinguished, diverse set of judges.

We’ve made a ton of progress, but Joe and Kamala are ready to strengthen the American economy and protect fundamental rights for all in a second term.

By contrast, Donald Trump is now a convicted felon who’s determined to roll back the clock on people’s hard-won freedoms, starting by signing a federal ban on abortion. He’s promised behind closed doors to slash the taxes of billionaires while leaving teachers, nurses, and middle-class families to bear the brunt. He’s told supporters to “get over” school shootings, revived his vicious plan to eliminate health care for millions of Americans, and floated giant cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits that would affect the most vulnerable populations.

But most terrifying of all is Trump’s threat to democracy. He’s preoccupied with revenge and retribution, openly plotting with fringe figures on the MAGA Right to terminate the Constitution and act as a dictator starting from “day one” back in office. He’s adopting language used in Nazi Germany to attack immigrants who he says “poison the blood of the country” and political opponents who he calls “vermin.” And the disgraced ex-president is, once again, aiming to contest the next presidential election with violence, calling for a “bloodbath” if Joe Biden defeats him on Election Day.
